Carni KlirsDC drone/guitar soundscapes, Sister Polygon Recordshttp://carniklirs.bandcamp.com

disclaimer/rant: I made this type treatment for this flyer (using Nevis bold). This stunning photo is taking from ffffound.com. I tried to trace it back to the original source, however it was linked to ffffound from tumblr. Not the tumblr post itself, but just the jpg file which was hosted on the tumblr media server. This effectively anonymized the image completely. I tried searching for the image name on google (which was a long string of numbers), and only found other blogs and image aggregators (pinterest, etc.) which had linked to the tumblr hosted jpg. I finally found one fashion blog, which pointed to http://salt-creep.tumblr.com, which ended up being a dead link, and probably not the original creator of the image. I have mixed feelings about appropriate imagery in a case like this. I’d love to attribute this if I could, but alas the proliferation of image collection/curation websites makes it increasingly difficult to correctly attribute artwork. I’m a little more lenient with myself in these situations when making a punk flyer, as the medium has an inherently ephemeral lifespan, and punk flyers have a long history of appropriation. But I just thought I’d be clear, rather than have anyone assume authorship on my part of something I didn’t make.
